Sunday the November 4th saw 122nd Anniversary run of the London to Brighton Veteran Car run 2018.
This is the third time that I have volunteered for this day out if you can call it that. We left Charlies at 07.30 for Clayton Hill for tea and coffee plus a bacon sandwich provided by Tom which was greatly appreciated by the 10 suckers’ sorry marshals, taking life and limb in their hands. The reason that I say this is when you have three vintage cars coming up the hill three abreast, they don’t want to stop, all you must do is get out of the way. It was a great day and an excellent day out. As I said above, I have participated three times and the weather has been good, but this is not always the case with lots of rain, frost and snow but my companions for the day said the hill has been a running river on past occasions. At the end we went to the Jack and Jill pub for a well-earned dinner. Come and join us next year!!
