Bexhill Classic & Custom Car Show 2015
The Bexhill Motoring Club’s Classic and Custom Car show was a success. Celebrity television personality Mike Brewer (currently co-presents TVs Wheeler Dealers) set the wheels in motion by officially opening the event at 11. The show which took place on Bank Holiday Monday (August 31st) at the Polegrove, marked the Bexhill 100 Motoring Club’s 11th anniversary for hosting the event. Mike Brewer spent the whole day at the show, chatting to visitors, commentating when selected cars were driven in the display area and presenting the trophies to the winning cars. Though the weather wasn’t what we’d hoped for this year, people who attended had a great time and we hope to have made a substantial amount for our chosen charities.
The best in show trophy went to Brain Tofts’ 1937 MG VA Tickford.
The Best Classic trophy was present to Alan Pegler, for his 1951 Daimler DB18 Special Sports.
The best Commercial vehicle went to Charlie Rowland’s 1984 DJ5 US Postal van.
The best Bexhill 100 Club car was Steven and Trish Davie’s Volkswagen Camper Van.
The Peter Nowak trophy which was donated by Pauline Forward in Peter’s memory, was presented to Penny Eldridge for her 1970 Triumph Herald.
This year’s show was the last one under the management of Tom Mason and Heidi Speck, who had been running it jointly for the past six years. Mike Brewer presented Tom and Heidi with gifts to thank them for all the hard work they had put in over the years.
