Drive it Day April 2018
Drive it Day was on the 22nd April this year and compared to other years what a wonderful day it was. With the sun shining club members got their rag tops out plus other cars on display. The theme this year was “LOST WHISTLE” the idea was from DDS with Lynn and my help planning the route and stops along the way. The route was designed to find what is left of the 11 railway stations in the local area. Some of them still survive but other have been total raised to the ground. We met at the De La Warr our usual rendezvous this time it was called platform 9 1/2 with trains (cars) departing at ten-minute slots. We had a coffee break at WESSONS CAFÉ at approximately 11:30 end of stage one. Stage two ended at the Holly Blue pub in Stones Cross. There was a quiz/observation on route the winner was Pat Taylor the prize was a MOT and summer car check provided by Auto Wise of Bexhill. The booby prize sticking with the theme of the run was a whistle and the proud new owner is Ian Stanley. We all had a wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable day. Many thanks to Dave, Lynn and Paul for all the help organising this years run.
