Children in Need 2016

An email was sent to all members, who came up trumps as usual, and in no time at all, we had the required number of cars available.  It was then agreed that we donate some of the monies raised by the French Market and also money which the Club had raised this year, and combine this with some last minute fund-raising to top it up.

An auctioned took place at our October Club Night.  At the Halloween Car Show we had a Pudsey look-alike dressed up as a wizard for the evening, and donations were made by people who appreciated the efforts we had made, and the sweeties we were giving out as an alternative to ‘trick or treat’. The Pudsey look-alike then took to the road and travelled to the NEC Car Show where more donations were gratefully received.  Making a grand total of £1219.80 to Children in Need.

Bexhill 100 MC’s talents did not end there – we were asked to build a ramp to enable our cars to drive onto the seafront side of the De La Warr Pavilion, and with special thanks to Tom Mason and Charlie Rowland plus all the wood was donated by Parkers in Bexhill, this was made ready for the day.  Our team was on standby from 1.30pm until around 9.30pm, in the cold, wet, windy plus a pepering of snow and sleet weather!!  A short film was shown on TV, and I drew the short straw and was asked to represent the Club to say what had been done for Children in Need.  It was extremely difficult to think of the right words, without any preparation and also in a short time, but the bottom line is that we should all be proud that our Club was selected to represent Bexhill and to show our town in such a positive light.
