New Years Day Run 7th January 2018
Click on pictures for more information
This year’s run was organised by Dave & Moira Foster so, as in the past, we were treated to a great run and some horrid clues.
We met at the De La Warr Pavilion at 9.30 to be given the map and clues for the route, greeted by a biting cold wind. Pleasantries were quickly dealt with and we all set off towards Eastbourne. At Pevensey roundabout the clues for the quiz started, along the A259, through Eastbourne and Beachy Head. The sun was out so we were greeted with some stunning views all the way to Birling Gap where we stopped for refreshments and to go write the first set of clues. A look around Birling Gap, pictures taken, we set off on Part 2, going out towards Seaford, then Alfriston and along to Arlington. Then onto the A22 towards Eastbourne, finding more clues, then to The Mill at Langley the destination for lunch. Not doing very well on the clues we’re not hopeful of winning.
Altogether, about 20 people joined us on the run, some meeting us at Birling Gap and some attending just the lunch. After drinks, the clues and answers were read out by Dave Foster and a tie break question to decide the winners who were Charlie Rowland and Graham Wills (King Bob) so well done to them a bottle of bubbly & chocolates were presented by Dave to them. Fed and watered we made our way home.
Big thank you to Dave & Moira Foster.
This year we had quite a few members missing due to ill health, we wish them all a speedy recovery and hope to see them soon.
