The run was supposed to be organised by John Piper who sadly passed away recently. But, thanks to Mike and Sandy, they decided to dedicate the run in his memory.

We met up at the Boship roundabout on a cold wet morning, sadly in our normal car at the Rover P6 decided to lose its brake fluid onto the garage floor via the rear caliper! So, it was out of action.

A lack of attendees was because the autojumble at Ardingly was on at the same time, plus the weather, but, in all, about 20 people turn up. A map of the route was handed out and we set off on our merry way.

Clear directions and told to collect pub names en-route. Narrow lanes and great views, travelling via Hellingly, Horam and Chiddlingly, ending up at the Yew Tree Inn for a wonderful Sunday roast.

A big thank you to Mike and Sandy. As Heidi and I have organised many runs for our club it brings back memories of John Piper along with Dori. They always competed in our runs out and quiz meals and often commented on how much they enjoyed the.

This is why we do these runs, so people can make the most of them.

John Piper will be greatly missed. Chris Speck.
