Anglo/French Street Market 17th/18th September
ANGLO/FRENCH STREET MARKET, BEXHILL – organised by Bexhill 100 Motoring Club
The sights, scents, sounds and sizzle of the Continent will transformed Devonshire Road that weekend, when the Anglo/French Market was in town. Visitors to the town centre found a colourful spectacle, with stalls lined up on either side selling a wide range of goods, from shoes, handbags and handmade soap to succulent cheeses, freshly made bread, delicious crepes and pastries.
The UK traders also offered a tempting variety of products, including handmade jewellery and textiles; paintings and artwork, homemade cakes and fudge; jams, chutneys and chilli based products; exclusive handmade children’s clothing and even flavoured ice snow cones.
The market give people an opportunity to enjoy goods that are not usually found in the shops and to sample a taste of France without the effort of travelling. The weather like the market in May was good and the feedback has been excellent for both days. All profits to go to local charities. A big thank you must go to Kier staff who meticulously worked to ensure that the street was cleaned and swept before and after each day. Also a big thank you goes to Elva car recovery who were on hand to remove the cars parked on Devonshire Road. Lynn would also like to thank all the helpers and marshals on both days for all their help.
