Presentation Night

29th September 2017

Bexhill 100 Motoring Club have donated a record £12,000 to local charitable organisations during their cheque presentation evening last Friday at Egerton Park Bowls Club.  This money was raised from proceeds of their annual Classic Car Show, held on August Bank Holiday Monday and from this year’s two Anglo/Continental Street Markets.

Joint show organiser, Charlie Rowland said: “everyone worked hard throughout the year and the good weather on the day produced a record turnout for the Car Show.  The main sponsors of the show were: Yeomans Hyundai of Bexhill; 1066 Country Estates and Drays of Bexhill.  The Show had a 1960s theme and we had great fun putting it on”. Co-organiser Chris Speck said that he already had an idea for next year’s show!  The success of the 2017 show enabled the Club to maintain a contingency fund for next year’s show and to donate £2,500 to each of the 4 charities nominated by the club members – Charity for Kids Hastings & Rother; Pelham CIO; 4x4 Assist and Special Kids Bexhill.

Anglo/Continental Street Market organiser, Lynn Brailsford, thanked all Bexhill 100 volunteers for their contribution to the market, which enabled the Club to donate £1,000 each to Shining Lights (Bexhill) Ltd and Glyne Gap School.  Michael Matthews, on behalf of Shining Lights thanked Bexhill 100MC for this donation which will go towards the cost of this year’s Christmas Lights in Bexhill. Unfortunately Glyne Gap School couldn't attend the evening, so Bexhill 100 will visit the school later on to present them with their cheque. Photographs by Dave Scott.
